Buzz

Company Director

I am an experienced PLC software programmer over several ranges of PLC’s including Siemens S5 & S7, TIA Portal, Siemens WinCC, Rockwell SLC and Control Logix, Mitsubishi FX and Q series, to name a few. My Experience was gained whilst working for Coca-Cola Enterprises at their world’s largest manufacturing site at Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
Having fulfilled many challenges with CCEP, 20 years ago I decided I wanted a new challenge and CBM-Logix Ltd was born. The business has changed over the years, building from a ‘One-Man Band’ doing ‘Fire Fighting’ and working from home, to a company with an 8+ strong team with a new, larger, purpose-built premises and a customer portfolio and reputation that we are all proud of.
Over the recent years we have branched out from just Automation and Integration to now include Robotics.
I am married to Wendy (the real boss); between us we have 3 sons, 1 daughter and 3 grandchildren. Oh, I must not forget the dog which we love to take on walks. Besides that, I like to watch any form of motor racing, in particular Motor Bikes.
And now I’m on a 2-year plan to start stepping back and handing the reins over to the youngsters, a two-year plan that’s about 3 years old already…

Brandon

Assistant Manager

(BEng EEE)

By trade, I am a multi-skilled electrically biased engineer, who is competent in many disciplines. By role, I am the assistant manager whose responsibilities include leading projects and assisting in the running of the business.
Beyond the workplace, I’m an enthusiast of Formula 1, football, UFC, mountain biking and adventures with the Mrs and the dog.

Wendy

Director and Office Manager

I’ve been working for CBM-Logix for 6 years and as well as sharing Company Director role with my husband Buzz (he has the bigger share), my main role is Office Manager. I’m responsible for managing the Health and Safety system, Finance and Human Resources. My role is part time and I am usually in the office on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. When not working, my time is usually spent with our busy family, looking after the home, walking the dog and gardening. Relaxation usually involves a glass of wine, nice food and when time allows, holidays in the sun with Buzz.

Richard

Senior Project Engineer

I have worked in the field of industrial software and automation since 1999. I’ve gained experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs (PLC5, SLC500, ControlLogix), Siemens PLCs (Siemens S5 and S7 ranges and TIA Portal) as well as Wonderware’s Intouch suite and other HMI packages such as Siemens WinCC and Rockwell FactoryTalk View. Prior to CBM, I worked for Markem-Imaje Ltd., suppliers of industrial coding and traceability solutions. There I managed projects and developed software solutions for pallet labelling systems. At CBM-Logix my work includes managing automation projects, including modifications of existing / replacement of obsolete control systems, development of new systems as well as providing software support for our customers.
I’m married with two kids and in my spare time I enjoy walking, cycling and playing lead and rhythm guitar in a couple of classic rock cover bands: I am always at my happiest stood in front of a Marshall amp with a Gibson Les Paul, a band alongside me and an appreciative audience in front of me.

Adam

Project Engineer

I began my career in automation in 2012 as an apprentice and completed my Level 4 HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Since then, I’ve gained a lot of experience working on different projects, programming Siemens and Allen-Bradley PLCs in industries such as Food and Beverage, FMCG, chemical, marine, glassworks, and steelworks. I also work closely with 6-axis Robots, Collaborative Robots, SCADA systems, and a wide variety of HMIs.
Outside of work, I’m a big music fan and love going to gigs to see my favorite artists.

Braden

Junior Engineer

Taking this job was a big career shift for me. Since 2019, I’ve been a welder/fabricator, mainly converting VW vans with beds and building tipper trucks. Now, I get to use my mechanical skills to design and fabricate in the automation industry while also learning to program PLCs, develop robotic systems, and use simulation software. Outside of work, I have a toddler daughter who keeps me busy. When I’m not watching Ms. Rachel or Bluey (if you know, you know), I enjoy watching football or Formula 1, welding in the shed, or playing computer games.

Rocco

Well-being Manager

Rocco has been our “Well-Being Manager” for the last 6 years. He loves his role at CBM-Logix; he’s very friendly, always eager to accept strokes, and won’t turn down a treat from anybody who visits the office.
