CBM-Logix is a dynamic and innovative automation, robotics, and integration company specialising in the design and installation of complete machines, robot cells, software modifications, the creation of bespoke End-of-Arm Tools (EOAT) and solutions for various industrial applications. As we continue to expand our operations, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our team.
Job Responsibilities:

- Control Panel Design and Wiring:
- Design and wire control panels for automation systems and robotic applications.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
- Mechanical Fabrication:
- Utilise drilling, grinding, and welding skills for the fabrication and assembly of mechanical components and structures.
- Collaborate with the design team to bring mechanical concepts to reality.
- CAD Design:
- Proficiently use CAD software to create detailed designs for mechanical components and electrical systems.
- Ability to apply animation to CAD design.
- Work closely with the engineering team to iterate and optimise designs.
- Fault Finding and Troubleshooting:
- Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in control panels and machinery.
- Implement effective troubleshooting techniques to minimise downtime.
- Cable Management:
- Run supply cables and ensure proper routing and termination.
- Adhere to safety and quality standards during cable installations.
- Bespoke EOAT Development:
- Design and create customised End-of-Arm Tools tailored to specific robotic applications.
- Innovative Problem Solving:
- Develop creative and efficient solutions to overcome engineering challenges.
- Propose improvements to existing systems for enhanced performance and reliability.
- PC Skills:
- A working knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook is a must
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including project managers, software engineers, and clients.
- Provide regular project updates and collaborate on project timelines.
Qualifications:
Preferable but not essential.
- HNC or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience in designing and wiring control panels.
- Proficiency in CAD software for both electrical and mechanical design.
- Strong mechanical fabrication skills, including welding, grinding, and drilling.
- Solid understanding of electrical systems and the ability to troubleshoot issues.
- Experience in cable management and installation.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Personal skills:
- Good team player but can also work on own initiative.
- Good communication skills with employer, colleagues, customers and suppliers.
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Good fault-finding skills.
- Ability to “Think outside of the box”
- Current, valid driving license with no pending disqualifications.
- Own reliable car.
- Legally registered to live and work in the UK.
- Current, valid passport.
What we expect:
As a business we have customers all over the UK and some in Europe.
On the odd occasion there may be a requirement to work away during the week, sometimes with a colleague and sometimes by yourself, hence the need to not only be a good team player but also just as comfortable working on your own initiative.
We always value a good work/home life balance and work on a “Swings and Roundabout” ethos. In other words, what you put in you’ll get out (normally in bucket loads).
Do we pay overtime? Sometimes, but not often, we prefer to give time off in lieu to maintain the good work/home life balance.
What we offer:
- Starting salary negotiable £35k – £40k, with a review after a successful 3-month probationary period.
- 28days, free-choice, holiday (includes bank holidays) – 1st Jan to 31st Dec.
